Ariel Winter is an American singer, actress and voice actor. She was born Ariel Winter Workman in Los Angeles California on January 28th 1998. Her acting journey began at the age of six, when she appeared in an advertisement in the commercial for Cool Whip. She landed her first television role at age 7 appearing in an episode of the CBS show Listen Up!. The next time she appeared on television, it was in Monk Bones, ER and various other television programs. In 2007, she was cast in the role of Gretchen in her role on the Disney Original Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb. Her breakthrough part in live action was the following year in the role of Alex Dunphy of the hit television series Modern Family. Ariel, along with the other members of the Modern Family cast have won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding performance by an Ensemble on a Comedy Series four times. Ariel continues to do voice-over work for movies like ParaNorman Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. Ariel has earned a Purple Belt in Taekwondo. Ariel is the youngest sister of Shanelle Workman (actor) and Jimmy Workman (actor). She has an active band known as WickedSweet and enjoys singing.
