Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco has released more than 20 albums. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a previous student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were each attending. Her father had Italian roots and her mother was born in Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the song "32 Flavors". This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. It was also featured on the soundtrack for the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized for holding a conference in Louisiana in an old slave plantation. It was postponed however, many (including the media) didn't consider it a gesture of regret. DiFranco released an apology a couple of weeks following. While she is known as Little Peoplesinger, she has been in contact with a myriad of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D all the way to Prince. New Orleans is where she is based. Ani diFranco and Kristen Ford are together. The first song she wrote was around the age of 14. They were performed in coffeehouses and bars during her teens. DiFranco completed her studies at The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school at 16 and started attending classes at Buffalo State College. The baritone of Ani is a custom Alvarez guitar made following several consultations with Chrys, an Alvarez representative for artists during the time. This guitar is built out of solid wood with a cedar top and mahogany sides. Additionally, it comes with the System 600 Preamp. DiFranco is at home with her family in New Orleans where she lives with her husband, two children and a sidekick Lefty their long-legged dog that wanders in and out of frame when we're talking. DiFranco has admitted that she has mixed feelings about her past career, which spans three decades. Ani DiFranco rose to icon status as a singer/songwriter as well as punk/folk around the age of 25 both with the public and critics, when she released Not A Pretty Girl. Dilate brought even greater success to DiFranco's music in 1996. Brandy (You're an A-Fair Girl) is a 1972 hit song by American pop rock band Looking Glass from their debut album Looking Glass.
