
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division for professional soccer for women. From 2018 until 2020, she was co-captained the American women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][99 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in winning the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time, and was the youngest player in the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 28 goalsand 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
